Finance Manager - Flight Operations

The Team

You\'ll join the Accounting and Controls team within Group Financial Control, managing the Flight Operations Accounting Team. You\'ll lead a team of two accountants and three assistant accountants, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Accounting and Controls.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of profit and loss and balance sheet for Fuel, Crew, and Disruption costs.
• Deliver internal and external financial reporting, provide insightful analysis to enhance understanding of our cost base, and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with Operations Finance.
• Be a key business partner across Operations, Commercial, and wider finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and robust financial control.

What we\'re looking for / Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior team members, fostering development and retention.
• Excellent communication skills, able to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• High attention to detail and ability to summarise complex data.
• Proactive, self-starter attitude with enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
• Advanced Excel skills (including basic macros); Planning Analytics experience preferred.
• Aviation experience is a plus, but not essential.

Practicalities

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
