Finance Manager
North Cardiff

Salary up to £50,000

Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be working with a growing, acquisitive SME in North Cardiff who are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their finance function. This is a fully office-based role with excellent scope to develop, with the potential to progress into a future Finance Director position. My client is open to applicants who are fully qualified or QBE (qualified by experience).

Key Responsibilities will include -

  • Lead and mentor a small finance team, supporting their development and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Review and sign off reports before circulation to relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, producing monthly management information for approval by the Finance Director
  • Provide cover for absent team members across payroll, invoicing and other duties as required
  • Maintain the prepayments and accruals ledger
  • Run and post month-end journals in preparation for FD review
  • Process HMRC submissions and payments (PAYE & NI)
  • Complete P11Ds and maintain control account reconciliations
  • Manage supplier payments and monitor cash flow
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Provide information and support for external year-end audits
  • Attend management meetings, contributing to wider business discussions
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage up
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a finance management role within an SME environment
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with strong all-round finance knowledge
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and relevant legislation
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on and adaptable, able to step in across all areas of finance when required
