Finance Manager
Lanarkshire
Salary up to £60k (DOE)

Lusona Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a key service sector organisation to source suitable applicants for the role of 'Finance Manager'. You will oversee a portfolio of projects, as well as manage an accounts assistant, ensuring financial management and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and reconciling core financial records across ledgers and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintaining accruals, prepayments, and amortisation workings.
  • Preparing management accounts, including variance analysis against budget.
  • Supervising VAT and CIS returns, invoice processing, and payment runs.
  • Overseeing cash book and loan schedule maintenance.
  • Preparing statutory accounts and supporting documentation for year-end audits.
  • Liaising with auditors during fieldwork and with tax advisors for corporation tax calculations.
  • Presenting finance reports to shareholders at quarterly project board meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with loan facility agreements and project deliverables.
  • Maintaining financial models and preparing budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Taking minutes at project board meetings.
  • Processing Companies House filings.

Applicants will be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, and we welcome candidates from both industry and accountancy practice backgrounds, as suitable experience in either environment will be considered. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and with external stakeholders. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail are essential, along with the confidence to challenge assumptions and improve processes. Successful candidates will take a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all financial activities.
