The Role

As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee daily accounting and legal cashier operations.
  • Supervise and train accounts team, monitor performance, and allocate tasks.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, KPIs, and cash flow reports.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Monitor income, expenditure, and budget compliance.
  • Post monthly journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll) and process VAT returns.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, client-to-office transfers, and supplier invoice postings.
  • Handle payroll processing and PAYE/NI payments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage SAR audits and liaise with the bank and HMRC.
  • Support senior management with analysis and address partner and staff queries.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in finance within a law firm
  • Recent experience working under SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules in a law firm is essential
  • You will have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
