Role: Financial Controller / Finance Manager

We are seeking a reliable, hands‑on finance professional to take responsibility for accurate, timely and high‑quality financial reporting across the business. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring deadlines are consistently met. The position offers exposure to group reporting, robust financial processes and the opportunity to manage and develop a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee transactional finance and financial reporting processes
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including:
  • Month‑end journals
  • Full ownership of profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Quarter‑end and year‑end reporting
  • Deliver high‑quality group reporting in line with standard reporting requirements
  • Review and monitor corporation tax instalments and payments
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns and payments, including:
  • Statutory accounts and confirmation statements
  • PAYE, VAT, PSA and P11D reporting
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoice approvals
  • Maintain strong financial controls, including:
  • Segregation of duties
  • Cash and payment approvals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Line manage and develop a small finance team
Essential Skills
  • Qualified, finalist or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a hands‑on approach
  • Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a growing, fast‑moving environment
