Are you a qualified accountant looking for a role that offers you ownership and something different every day whilst in a creative environment? Do you have significant management accounting experience including financial planning and budgeting? Can you communicate financial information in a clear way?

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to work with budget holders and colleagues to deliver financial planning and budgeting, management reporting, financial control, analysis and performance improvement for Stratford and Touring Productions.

This role exists to provide support to stakeholders recognising our increased activity in artistic programming and joining up financial management. You would be part of a supportive, collaborative and highly experienced team who operate in a fast‑paced department which interacts across the breadth of the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, key areas of responsibility include the following (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list) :

  • Leading on the production of monthly and year‑end management accounts.
  • Working as a partner and critical friend with both the Executive Producer and Producing Team for Stratford‑upon‑Avon and touring productions, including transfers of shows to other national and international locations, creating budgets and monitoring income and expenditure performance of productions.
  • Liaising with Producers and external partners on commercial co‑production arrangements and protecting the interests of the RSC.
  • Coordinating the year‑end process for Stratford and Touring Productions.
  • Line managing two Assistant Finance Business Partners, providing support and guidance to their professional development.
  • Building strong relationships with and providing financial support to key budget holders and their teams.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience :

  • CCAB / CIMA qualification.
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and work to tight deadlines with commitment to timely task completion.
  • Significant experience in a management accounting role.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial information in a clear way to non‑finance colleagues.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

This is a full‑time, permanent position based in Stratford‑upon‑Avon. You will be working 35 hours per week, (hybrid working available) Monday to Friday, although with an expectation of working additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the role when required.
