Finance Assistant

A great opportunity for a detail-focused Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team, supporting with management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting and audits within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Finance Assistant with strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail.

As a Finance Assistant you will support the Financial Controller across accounting, payroll, reconciliations and month-end processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with audit requirements.

The Finance Assistant will also assist with budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities, helping to maintain efficient finance operations and contribute to continuous improvement.

DUTIES
  • Prepare Monthly Accounts: Assist with accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Provide data and reports to aid financial planning
  • Reconciliations: Complete balance sheet, VAT and bank reconciliations accurately
  • Audit Support: Help with year-end, interim and statutory audit requirements
  • Fixed Assets: Maintain asset registers and ensure accurate depreciation records
  • Cashflow Forecasting: Contribute to cashflow reporting and treasury cover
  • Financial Processes: Ensure compliance across purchase ledger, general ledger and stock records
  • Reporting: Produce regular management and ad-hoc financial reports
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounts support role
  • AAT, CIMA or ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent) desirable
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Experience with SAP or SAGE accounting software advantageous
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
