A well-established business in the South West is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant for a full-time, permanent role. You will manage petty cash, perform bank reconciliations, maintain vehicle records, and assist with finance administration. The ideal candidate is part or fully-qualified AAT, proficient in MS Excel, and ideally has experience with SAGE. This position offers potential flexibility for a four-day work week.

Job Overview

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively assigned by our client, a well-established business with multiple sites across the South West and beyond. They seek to find a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. There’s also potential for the right candidate to work a four-day week.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Managing petty cash, ensuring accurate recording and timely replenishment
  • Completing bank reconciliations across multiple locations
  • Maintaining up-to-date records for company vehicles, including MOT, insurance, and servicing schedules
  • Assisting with general finance administration and month-end reporting
  • Liaising with managers across locations to resolve discrepancies and provide financial information
  • Ensuring all financial records are accurate, compliant, and well organised
Qualifications

We’re on the lookout for candidates who are ideally part or fully-qualified AAT, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You’ll definitely be confident with MS Excel, and chances are you’ve used SAGE before too.
