We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join Wärtsilä Defence Solutions Ltd (WDSL), part of the wider Wärtsilä Marine Business.

WDSL focuses on enhancing the business of its marine and oil & gas customers by providing innovative products and integrated solutions that are safe, environmentally sustainable, efficient, flexible and economically sound. We provide integrated shaftline systems, packages and products that offer lifecycle efficiency, decreased costs and reduced risks.

The role reports to the Head of Finance and Business Control and supports the financial planning and analysis of the business, bridging operational performance with strategic financial planning.

What you will be doing

• Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, specifically the business line P&L.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning (LRP).
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances against budget.
• Assist in preparing board-level presentations and reports for both WDSL and group leadership.
• Coordinate intercompany Order Book and ensure accurate reporting of such.
• Collaborate with operational teams to understand business drivers and improve financial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and group accounting policies.
• Support external audit and statutory reporting requirements.

What we expect from you

• Experience in a similar role, ideally in an international organisation.
• Experience using SAP, HFM (Hyperion), QlikView reports and MS Office is desirable.
• Excellent communicator with strong analytical skills.
• Strong team player with the ability and willingness to work independently in a systematic and structured way.
• Ability to take responsibility for your work and initiate completion of tasks.
• Logical judgement and high ethical standards; motivated and positive attitude to identify practical solutions.
• Diplomatic in approach to dealing with users across varied functions.
• The job is offered subject to successfully obtaining Security Clearance.
