Job Title: Mechanical Field Service Engineer - Aero | Permanent Position

Location: United Kingdom (with up to 70% global travel)

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer with a strong background in aero-based gas turbines or related turbine technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global energy business delivering innovative solutions that enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance across the power generation and oil & gas industries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of aero-based gas turbines.
  • Conduct inspections, hot section replacements, engine swaps, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide technical direction to site teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and hydraulic issues on turbines and auxiliary systems.
  • Oversee commissioning and performance optimisation of turbine systems.
  • Manage all in-field activities in line with HSE standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a mechanical technician or field engineer working with aeroderivative, aircraft, or industrial gas turbines.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems, including bolting, flange management, and small-bore piping.
  • Proven hands-on experience in turbine maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Ability to lead teams and work independently in fast-paced field environments.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 70% of the time.
  • Must hold a valid UK work authorisation or British passport.
