Overview

Field Service Engineer - Midlands Area - CHP & Biogas - Ideal for Generator / Diesel Engine Technicians looking to expand their skillset - £40-44k salary DOE - Door2door pay - O/time + other benefits

What You Need

• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience working with engines, generators, or heavy plant machinery
• Strong skills in fault-finding, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Confidence working with both mechanical and electrical systems (including low-voltage controls, with knowledge of higher voltage systems an advantage)
• Familiarity with modern engine control systems (training will be provided where needed)
• Ability to use standard IT tools to complete reports and maintain records
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility to take part in an out-of-hours rota when required

The Role

Reporting to the UK Operations Manager / Operations Director, you will work as part of the wider team responsible for the maintenance and repairs on Biogas Engines from 120kw to 3Mw. You will visit client\'s sites working on all types of gas engines, predominantly Jenbacher, MWM and MAN, undertaking routine servicing and rectification works of equipment (PPM), attending breakdowns to investigate mechanical and electrical failures, carry out extensive fault diagnosis of associated equipment and plant machinery and carry out comprehensive checks of engines ensuring that any issues are raised through line management reporting procedures. You will be expected to be in control of maintenance, service and repairs to the CHP engines, with efficiency, time management and good personal organisation being key to minimise downtime.
