Qualifications

Location: HD9 4AN

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience (plus overtime - door to door)

Job type: Full Time - Permanent, 39.5 hours per week

The Role

As we continue to expand our UK operations, we are looking for a technically skilled Field Service Engineer who thrives in a hands‑on, problem‑solving environment.

In this role you will be responsible for carrying out service operations, including:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing specialist fire and rescue vehicles
  • Diagnosing and resolving engine faults and mechanical/electrical system malfunctions
  • Conducting LOLER examinations and replacing components
  • Addressing bodywork damage
  • Ensuring all tasks meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability, in line with customer expectations, legislation, and company policies

This is a hybrid role that combines work at our head office in Holmfirth with field service assignments across the UK and occasional opportunities to support operations in Europe. You may also travel to our production facilities in Germany and Austria for advanced training with Rosenbauer's world‑class equipment.

Required Skills
  • Hands‑on experience working on vehicle systems, especially mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent)
  • Experience with specialist systems—including access platforms (LOLER), cranes, hydraulics, and similar equipment—would be an advantage
  • Flexibility, confidence, enthusiasm, and strong initiative in a fast‑paced, service‑focused environment
  • Ability to examine and test vehicles, read electrical diagrams, perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacement, service schedules)
  • High quality work and attention to detail
  • Customer‑facing communication skills
  • Strong IT skills are beneficial
