Overview

Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We\'re seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a dynamic Engineering Service Support Team delivering world-class loading and unloading solutions to factories across the UK and beyond. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing both automatic and manual loading systems, ensuring maximum uptime and safety for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults efficiently to meet customer requirements.
  • Participate in a callout rota supporting customers on-site across the UK and occasionally overseas.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and reporting incidents as required.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, escalating complaints appropriately.
  • Support other remote sites as required, including occasional weekend work.
  • Assist with training and development by attending company and legislative courses.
What We\'re Looking For
  • City & Guilds or equivalent recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in a similar engineering role, ideally within parcel handling, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, with experience in inverter drives, SCADA, PROFIBUS, AS-i, and PC/PLC control advantageous.
  • Track record of successfully delivering against contractual targets, PM schedules, and KPIs.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written reports and confident customer interactions.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
