Field Service Engineer

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 DOE + OT available

Shifts: Monday-Friday (Some Occasional Weekend Work May Be Required)

Location: UK and Europe (Field-Based)

Employment Type: Full-time

Are you a hands‑on Maintenance engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working directly with customers? My client is looking for a proactive Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK team, supporting the servicing, installation, commissioning, and upgrading of specialist FMCG equipment across customer sites in the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out equipment servicing, installations, and commissioning in the field, working closely with the wider UK engineering team. And some European Travel.
  • Perform equipment upgrades, ensuring machinery meets the latest performance and safety standards.
  • Refurbish and upgrade customers' older machines, improving reliability and extending equipment life cycles.
  • Provide high-quality technical support to customers, ensuring minimal downtime and excellent service delivery.
  • Participate in occasional out-of-hours and weekend work, depending on customer needs.
What They're Looking For
  • Strong mechanical/electrical engineering skills minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Electrical or Mechanical maintenance engineering
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, or commissioning (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused mindset
  • Willingness to travel across the UK, Europe and occasionally work outside normal hours
