We are hiring for a Field Engineer (Nights) to provide excellent service to Thames Water customers, through the effective operation and maintenance of the Water Network.

This role will require a range of tasks to be undertaken from routine maintenance through to complex investigations and issue resolution.

What you’ll be doing as a Field Engineer (Nights):
  • Undertaking a series of tasks to enable the identification and resolution of system leakage. This may include Step Testing, Flow/Flush Testing of District Meters, Waste Meter Maintenance & Logging, Seepage Investigations and more.
  • Undertaking a series of tasks to enable the identification and resolution of system issues impacting levels of service such as Poor Water Quality, Poor Pressure and Burst Pipes etc.
  • Undertaking a series of tasks to investigate and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Routine activities to support day to day operations.
  • Safety & Wellbeing – Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the TW safety standards and guidance.
Base location:

Ashford Common - TW15 1RU or Deephams - Enfield, North London - N9 0BA

Working pattern or hours:

Night Shift - 38 Hours per week (Mon - Thurs). This role will be carried out on an out of hours shift pattern, 20:00 – 06:00.

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:

  • Appropriate educational level / qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / GCSE) or equivalent experience in either a water network or leakage role
  • IT skills – will be required to communicate via a portable device.
  • Understanding of key Company operating procedures relevant to specific role.
  • Communication skills, basic customer service skills
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
