A telecommunications company is seeking a Break/Fix Engineer for an onsite role in Glasgow covering Southern and Central Scotland. The role involves diagnosing and repairing telecom faults, installing equipment, and providing support at network hubs. Successful candidates will have proven experience in telecom environments and must hold a valid UK Driving Licence. The contract offers up to £325 per day for 6 months with an immediate start.

Overview

Field Engineers - Break/Fix (Glasgow)

Rate: Up to £325 per day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Glasgow (covering Southern & Central Scotland)

Hours: Onsite, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults across fiber nodes, FTTP, FTTX, copper networks, and telephony systems.

  • Install and support DC Chargers, PDH, SDH, Comtel, Microwave radio technologies (DC & AC).

  • Work with Cisco and Alcatel products, with strong LAN & WAN internetworking skills.

  • Replace and repair telecom hardware including Routers, Switches, and fiber connections.

  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues at telecom sites to ensure seamless network performance.

  • Provide on-site support at telecom masts and network hubs, restoring services efficiently.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Break/Fix Engineer.

  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.

  • Hands-on experience in telecom environments (fiber, copper, radio, DC/AC).

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Ability to work independently on-site.
