Overview

As a Support Worker in Henllan, Denbighshire you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community.

Location: Henllan, Denbighshire

Hours: We have part-time (minimum 20 hours per week) and full-time hours (maximum 35 hours per week). Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins. Please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do.

Salary: £12.74 per hour; sleep-in shifts £60 per night; travel expenses paid 45p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll actively support four individuals (two males and two females) who are active and enjoy various activities in the community. Two of the people you’ll be supporting are wheelchair users and require personal care.

As their trusted Support Worker, you’ll empower them to make choices including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkable by enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this role is rewarding for the right person.

Who we are looking for

No experience is required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • are female (essential)
  • have patience and empathy
  • can support a person with intimate personal care with respect and dignity
  • have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
  • have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
  • have a full driving licence – essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
  • have access to your own car and are happy to use this for transporting people we support and for which we can arrange relevant insurance (45p per mile)
