Job description

We are looking for a friendly reliable Female Personal Assistant to support an independent‑minded mid 60‑year‑old female in the Strathaven area.

You would be required to provide one‑to‑one care and assistance within their home, at a day centre and in the community, including attending to personal care and participation in social activities to maintain and increase independence.

Responsibilities
  • Driving to appointments, social groups and community activities
  • Moving and assisting – pushing manual wheelchair, using Sara Steady, etc.
  • Supporting with preparing meals and healthy snacks
  • Supporting with exercise and physiotherapy ensuring safety at all times
  • At times supporting personal care needs (toileting including bowel movements, etc.)
  • Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
What are we looking for?
  • A confident driver is desirable but not essential, with a full clean UK licence as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle.
  • Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage the service user to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
  • Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
  • Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work

We expect the hours of work to be approximately 2.5 – 3 hrs a day Monday – Friday, with a degree of flexibility depending on the needs of the service user. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview. Hours: 15 per week.

Hourly Rate

£18.00 per hour
