Family Support Worker
Location: Ilford
Hours: 40 per week (including some evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Salary: From £27,352 per annum

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of families and children? We're recruiting on behalf of a valued client for dedicated Family Support Workers to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is motivated, empathetic, and committed to supporting families in building positive futures.

The Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with families to:

  • Provide guidance on all aspects of daily life, including parenting, budgeting, routines, and healthy living.
  • Support parents in developing essential parenting skills while always promoting the welfare of children.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor family placement and assessment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, family members, and professionals such as GPs, health visitors, and social workers.
  • Maintain accurate and evidence-based documentation.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for families and children.

You will also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills. After completing probation, you may take on responsibilities as a Shift Lead, overseeing the care and safety of families, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth running of shifts.

About You

We're looking for someone who is approachable, resilient, and a strong communicator. You should have:

  • Experience working with children and families.
  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Childcare & Education or a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and child development.
  • The ability to build trust and supportive relationships with families who may be facing complex challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports.
