Factory Operative – Manufacturing

Rochester (must have own transport due to limited public transport routes)

£25,700 per year + regular overtime – opportunity to earn more

40 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.30 pm, Friday 7.30 am – 1.30 pm

Pearson Whiffin’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Technical team are delighted to work with an excellent employer in Medway to find a Production Operative for their Shotblasting team.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a manufacturing environment as part of a team, while also working independently.
  • Shot‑blast manufactured components.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Follow technical instructions to complete tasks accurately, record work using touch‑screen systems, and follow processes.
  • Quality‑check your work.
  • Manual handling to move materials around the factory.
  • Assist with additional tasks when required.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a physical factory‑based role within manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a relevant field – ideally with metal.
  • Good level of physical fitness and willingness to carry out manual handling tasks.
  • Positive attitude, good track record of reliability.
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions closely.
  • Flexibility regarding hours worked, with willingness to undertake overtime.
  • Valid driving licence and own vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using a shot blaster.
  • Prepared metal for painting previously.
  • Interest in the automotive sector.
