Overview
As a Project Manager, you will manage and deliver projects on Thames Water buildings, including structural projects (Lifecycle) and facilities for staff (Welfare). The portfolio includes Listed buildings and buildings of operational importance. You will travel across the Thames Valley and/or the London Region and work as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Scope projects independently, liaising with Operational Specialists to ensure the scope is fully evolved.
- Invite framework contractors to tender, manage the return, and review and award tenders.
- Ensure CDM compliance for all projects, acting as Client and managing Principal Designer and Contractor, delivering on time, within budget, and in accordance with Thames Water and legal guidelines.
- Liaise with the Controller of Premises for Pre-Construction information. Check and appraise Contractors\' Construction Phase Plans, Health & Safety Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for safe execution of works.
- Induct the Contractor and supply chain and communicate relevant site hazards or health & safety issues.
- Deliver performance in health and safety, environment and quality, with a detailed and organised administration record.
- Regularly forecast spending and report to delivery managers, escalating issues as needed; follow and contribute to governance procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal colleagues, site employees, and external contractors).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and take initiative to deliver high-quality work.
- Experience in Construction or Engineering Project Management.
Additional skills and experiences
- Formal qualifications in relevant sectors are encouraged (ideally a BTEC/HND or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater treatment is a plus.
- Understanding of Health and Safety standards in construction, including CDM; additional training will be provided.

Additional Information
Location – Ashford Common area, West London. Travel to multiple sites using your vehicle; car allowance paid monthly.
Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
