Qualifications

  • Experience in Caretaking, Plumbing, Carpentry/Joinery, Painting is desirable.

Job Purpose

The role of part time Facilities Officer is to support the Senior Facilities Officer and Operations Supervisor in the provision of the school’s support service, ensuring the school is secure, safe, and maintained for pupils, staff and visitors, working to agreed service standards. This is a part time role, working 11–21 hours per week all year round.

Responsibilities
  • Unlocking and locking of buildings and facilities as required
  • Ensuring fire doors and windows are secure; maintaining security of the campus, buildings, and facilities
  • Carrying out a maintenance plan, undertaking repairs, maintaining equipment, and overseeing daily upkeep of heating, lighting, water, drainage, and other services
  • Providing support for lettings and school events
  • Carrying out any cleaning requirements as needed; keeping grounds clean, tidy and litter free
  • Cleaning school vehicles inside and out at least weekly and prior to all excursions
  • Promoting the school in a professional image and driving school vehicles as required
Person specification
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Relevant qualifications in facilities or related field, including IOSHH and MIDAS (or willingness to undertake)
  • Desirable: experience in Caretaking, Plumbing, Carpentry/Joinery, Painting; knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Team player with a flexible approach to working day
  • Working shift patterns will vary depending on needs of the school
