Facilities Engineer - Mechanical

Location: Near Halesowen, West Midlands (multi-site)

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (weekends available, not mandatory)

The Role

Talented People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a Mechanical Facilities Engineer. The role covers multiple sites and focuses on mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and continuous site support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical facilities maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults using drawings and schematics.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Maintain dock levellers, industrial doors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support safe working practices and site compliance.
  • Assist and mentor apprentices when required.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Support occasional out-of-hours work as required.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical or facilities maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
  • Confident communicator and effective team player.
  • Good IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience working with hydraulic or dock levelling systems.
  • Welding or fabrication experience advantageous.
  • NVQ Level 3 / ONC / BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • IPAF, PASMA or FLT licences (or willing to train).
  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations beneficial.
Additional Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexible approach and strong work ethic.
