EYFS Specialist with SEND Interest
£425 – £475 per week, dependent on experience

I am working with a school in Northwich who are looking for an EYFS Specialist to join their team. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant that can start immediately.
The SEND School cater for students of primary age in Northwich. All students have Severe Learning Difficulties, such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. Many of the students have sensory processing disorder and may need time away from the classroom to ensure their sensory and emotional needs are met. Due to the nature of this school, all students have a bespoke curriculum and any academic work will be very similar to the Early Years Framework. The school is equipped with sensory and breakout rooms onsite, as well as a brilliant outdoor area for students to explore and fulfil their sensory needs.
You will be based in a small Key Stage 2 Classroom of 7-8 students, with 1 teacher and 2 other Teaching Assistants. You will be required to work both inside and out of the classroom on a 1:1 basis. Some students in this classroom have PICA syndrome, so you will need to be observant and ready to act quickly. In addition, there are 2 non-verbal students, therefor any experience with alternative communication methods would be desirable. There will be occasions when you will need to assist with personal care.
The role involves working in a Key Stage 2 classroom with 7-8 students, collaborating with 1 teacher and 2 other Teaching Assistants. Activities include working both inside and outside the classroom on a 1:1 basis. Be observant and ready to act quickly for students with PICA. Support non-verbal students with appropriate communication methods and assist with personal care when required.
