Job description
Executive Director of Digital Transformation

Salary: £75,000 per annum. 37 hours per week. Fixed Term until 1st September 2029. Location: Negotiation of base site with successful candidate.

About the Role

The Director of Digital Transformation Strategy is responsible for leading the strategic vision, planning, and execution of digital transformation across the organisation. This role ensures that all digital initiatives align with corporate objectives and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, innovation, and user experience. The post holder will oversee the modernisation of systems, processes, and services, embedding a customer‑first approach and promoting a culture of agility and continuous improvement.

The role also requires adherence to health and safety, equality and diversity, safeguarding responsibilities, and compliance with all TEC Partnership policies and procedures.

Key Expectations
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital transformation strategy and roadmap with clear milestones and outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to align digital initiatives with organisational goals and communicate the vision and benefits of digital change.
  • Innovation and Technology: Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and ensure digital inclusion and accessibility across all platforms.
  • Governance and Compliance: Maintain robust digital governance, data protection, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on digital KPIs and transformation outcomes to demonstrate impact.
  • Resource Management: Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Change Management: Lead initiatives to embed digital‑first practices and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Representation: Act as an ambassador for the organisation at external forums and strategic partnerships.
About the Person

The candidate must have proven experience in leading digital transformation within complex organisations and managing large‑scale change initiatives that balance human‑centric outcomes with resource efficiency. They will demonstrate the ability to drive organisational vision through strategic foresight and decisive leadership, build and sustain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, and oversee the delivery of complex programmes to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Business, IT, or Digital Strategy with Level 2/GCSE English and Maths as a minimum.
  • Desirable: MBA or equivalent, recognised programme or project management qualifications and change‑management certifications.
  • Extensive expertise in using digital technologies to drive organisational transformation and innovation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data governance, analytics, and strategic data utilisation.
  • Strong awareness of emerging digital trends and their application in shaping forward‑thinking strategies.
