We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive executive assistant to join a well‑established team that provides high standards of professionalism, integrity and support to our Executive Directors and non‑executive directors.
This is a key role ensuring efficiency, professionalism and the smooth running of our executive office. Our executive assistants support our Executive Directors; this role will primarily support the Executive Director for the Martyn's Law Regulator Programme as we implement a large‑scale change in 2027.

Essential Experience and Skills
- Relevant experience in a PA or Executive Assistant role.
- High standards of professionalism, discretion and integrity.
- Ability to use judgement to deal with highly confidential and sensitive matters for senior executives and board‑level roles.
- Experience working closely one‑to‑one with senior personnel to deliver requirements at pace and with minimal direction.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in minute‑taking.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to act on own initiative and make judgements as appropriate.
- Experience establishing, developing and maintaining positive working relationships internally and externally at all levels.
About the SIA and Martyn’s Law
The SIA is an executive non‑departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office. We are preparing to become the regulator of Martyn’s Law – a new civil, regulatory regime introduced in 2025 to improve protective security and preparedness at premises and events across the UK.
We are now operationally independent of government and have a staff of nearly 400 members. The new Martyn’s Law functions will sit alongside and complement our existing responsibilities for regulating the private security industry.
Pay and Benefits
- Salary: £31,201
- Pension: SIA contributes £9,038 towards membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
- Annual leave: 27.5 days, rising by one additional day for every two years of service up to a maximum of 32.5 days.
