Job description
Overview

It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. In this role you will be asked to:



  • To lead designated staff within the Evidential Property Service.

  • Provide day to day management support for the Evidential Property.

  • To identify, monitor and deal with welfare and performance issues of team members.

  • To ensure that all property coming into Police possession is dealt with according to Force Policy.

  • Lead compliance in Health & Safety management across all Evidential Property services.

  • To identify development and training needs of team members and stakeholders.

  • Act as point of contact for property enquiries.

  • Be responsible for ensuring exceptional and robust auditing procedures are in place concerning the storage, retrieval, retention and disposal of property.

  • To ensure that the security of the building is maintained.


Qualifications


  • Business or management degree or equivalent management experience gained in a similar role.

  • IOSH Certificate Working Safely.

  • IOSH Certificate Managing Safety in the Workplace.

  • Proven, demonstrable experience of working in an evidential property stores environment or equivalent.

  • Experience of supervising and motivating a team.

  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of legislation and statutory requirements of Health & Safety particularly relating to the handling and storage of hazardous items, lone working and working at height.

  • Ability to work independently using own judgement to make dynamic and informed decisions.

  • Strong operational skills.

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Flexibility to travel between remote sites.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and Project.


The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
