Production Manager - Build, Exhibition and Environments

Location: Surrey, UK (Hybrid working with international travel)

What You'll Be Doing

As Events Production Manager, you may take the lead on delivering Build or Exhibition Production for a project or work as part of a team of production managers on larger initiatives. You’ll be analysing the project brief, defining the project scope, and allocating resources and budget to turn creative concepts for builds and environments into reality. You’ll be accountable for managing on-site teams and forming valuable supplier relationships while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.

  • Providing technical expertise in Build and Exhibition production and teams support across all areas of events and exhibitions.
  • Demonstrating strong familiarity and experience collaborating with build and infrastructure vendors throughout all phases of exhibition and event production.
  • Collaborating closely with the creative production team to guide solutions while managing build limitations and budgets.
  • Overseeing all on-site build elements, including fit-up, get-out, and personnel oversight.
  • Partnering with event producers, designers, and team members to develop effective solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives.
  • Working with 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure flawless production delivery.
  • Conducting comprehensive site inspections and advising on construction of build items and logistics.
  • Assessing equipment, materials, and resource needs, and coordinating procurement/crew arrangement with the project manager.
  • Contributing to client proposals and pitches.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable client rates while ensuring highest-quality standards. Preparing and evaluating supplier RFPs and appointing as needed.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality, health and safety, and fire regulations both internally and on-site.
  • Staying updated on Customs regulations for transporting equipment and build materials regionally and internationally and supporting the Head of Technical Production on processes improvement to allow smooth project delivery.
What You Will Bring

We’re looking for someone with technical expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering flawless builds and exhibitions.

  • Good customer service skills and client focus.
  • Proven Office 365 capability, advanced Excel proficiency and sound information and communication technology (ICT) skills and use of Computer Aided Design and drafting tools (AutoCAD).
  • Proven experience of producing and delivering multiple projects to deadlines and budget.
  • Sound knowledge of exhibition and environment build disciplines.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience of contract management.
  • A broad network of suppliers and crew to call upon.
  • Good knowledge of other aspects of event production.

Other Requirements
  • Quiet home environment from which to work (although the successful candidate will be required to be office based (1-2 days a week) and have the ability to travel to the office to aid team collaboration or meet client needs).
  • Minimum of 25MB download / 2MB upload home broadband speed (for home working).
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally throughout the year.
