About the Role

As our Events Electrician role, you will provide our first direct bank arena team, onsite technical support during events covering music, comedy, sport, exhibitions and conferences.

You will work on show days covering either the load in or show and load out and will support with first line reactive maintenance in the Venue along with supporting other departments to maintain a safe and welcoming venue

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and removal of temporary power, demonstrating competency and knowledge of BS7671 and BS7909. Providing support and assistance to visiting Event Organisers and Productions ensuring compliance with guidance and regulations.

• Working closely with the venue Event Managers to ensure all visiting production requests are dealt with in a timely and positive manner.

• React and attend to repairs and breakdowns reported by staff and clients. These include electrical faults and failures, first line response to plumbing, sanitary issues, joinery and safety issues.

• Support the venue with ad-hoc maintenance tasks to assist with building improvements.

• To use software systems as directed to track and coordinate maintenance activities. Receiving, updating and closing off requests and maintaining records.

• Weekly and scheduled checks of water systems, emergency lighting and venue walk rounds.

• Operation of the buildings BMS system.

We are looking for someone with:

• An engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3/C&G/ONC or completion of BS7909 together with suitable experience.

• Evidence of knowledge of BS7671 and BS7909 in relation to electrical systems.

• Knowledge and understanding of portable appliance and fixed appliance testing.

• A basic understanding on venue plant services and systems (e.g. HVAC // Heating and Cooling).

• Experience of using Building Management Systems (BMS)

• Basic knowledge of building maintenance.

• Previous Experience within the Events industry would be preferrable.

• A positive can-do attitude and ensure provision of the best possible service to both visitors and clients.

• A solution focused approach, who can react to unforeseen and unplanned situations with the best outcome.

• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications eg. Excel // Word

• Awareness of Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) Software Systems (Training will be given)

• Recent Counterbalance Forklift Truck training and IPAF are desirable.

• An understanding of DALI lighting systems would be advantageous.
