We are seeking an experience Sales Professional with a background in selling Instrumentation or Similar Technical Products for our brilliant client. The company are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston and this role will be covering a European Territory. This is a great opportunity to join a thriving company within their Commercial team and collaborate within the wider company teams. This is a full-time permanent position and the salary is negotiable depending on experience + commission and benefits.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Instrumentation you will be responsible for growing sales of the companies innovative range of personal, portable and fixed gas detection instruments via distribution and directly to end users, As a result there will be significant travel within Europe.

The main purpose of the role is to maximise gross profit from sales, territory will include mainland Europe, Scandinavia and Turkey. But will not include Italy, France and Germany as the company has this area covered with subsidiaries and franchises there. You will meet/ exceed annual sales targets in order increase gross margin within the territory.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and support existing distributors
  • Identify, appoint and train new distributors
  • Visit Ket accounts and existing users to forge lasting relationships
  • Travelling to visit prospective users
  • Identify and evaluate new business development opportunities (sales, new products and market development)
  • Attending exhibitions, conferences and trade shows
  • Working closely with the wider commercial team to ensure customer receive excellent customer service and support
  • Gathering market intelligence and feeding into the business via visit reports
  • Influencing future product development
  • With the Head of Instruments, help to define both regional and divisional sales strategies
  • Collaboration with the marketing team to develop new content, events and webinar material
The Person

For this important role within the company we are seeking someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Ideally you will educated to degree level within either Chemistry, or Physics or relevant subject
  • An experienced, proactive and motivated sales person
  • Ideally, some experience with international sales
  • Demonstrable experience of technical sales or a manufactured product
  • Proven ability to convey complex technical topics with simplicity, both verbally and in written form
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills
  • Sales of gas sensing or leak detection products
  • Knowledge of PID (photoionisation Detector) products
  • Experience selling in the European Region
  • Experience of using CRM, ideally HubSpot
  • Some knowledge of the following markets: Oil and Gas, Petrochemical. Pharmaceutical and Occupational Health & Safety

This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis. The salary offered is depending on experience and plus benefits.
