Job summary

An international banking institution in Greater London seeks an ETD Finance Analyst to support financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting for Exchange Traded Derivatives. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong experience in Finance or Product Control divisions or similar finance roles within banking or trading.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange Traded Derivatives, margining and settlement processes.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for ETD positions, cash, and balances.
  • Analyse P/L variances and ensure accurate trade capture and accounting treatment.
  • Support the month-end close processes including journal entries and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Partner across Operations, Trading, and Finance to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and enhance control frameworks for compliance.
  • Develop and review accounting methodologies for ETD products.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation efforts.
  • Prepare management reports and ad-hoc financial analysis.

What is the opportunity?

The ETD Finance Analyst supports the Exchange Traded Derivatives Control team in managing financial controls, reconciliations and reporting across trading and operational activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity in financial results, compliance with internal policies and adherence to exchange and regulatory requirements. RBC's expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations between front, middle and back office systems for ETD positions, cash and balances.
  • Analyse P/L variances, ensuring accurate trade capture and accounting treatment.
  • Support the month‑end close processes including journal entries, accruals and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Partner across Operations, Trading and Finance teams to resolve breaks and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and enhance control frameworks to ensure compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
  • Develop, document and periodically review accounting methodologies for ETD products to ensure consistency with firm‑wide policies and evolving regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Prepare and present management reports and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
What do you need to succeed?
Must‑have
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong experience in Finance or Product Control divisions or similar finance roles within a banking or trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange Traded Derivatives, margining and settlement processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Nice‑to‑have
  • CPA or CFA designation.
