Overview

We have an opportunity for an experienced Estimator join our development, team. You'll be based out of our head office in Wembley, combining office and home working to ensure a positive work/life balance.

It's an exciting time to join us to help us deliver our ambitious development programme of 25,000 new homes over the next 10 years. Sovereign Network Group (SNG) provide over 84,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England – our purpose, crystalised within our sector leading Homes and Place Standard, is to provide quality affordable homes and thriving communities over generations.

Responsibilities

The role will collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, supply chain and consultants to implement a commercially focused approach throughout the design, procurement and delivery of new homes to meet the SNG Homes and Place Standard, incorporating MMC and embracing the Net Zero Carbon challenge. Support regional Land and New Business and Regeneration teams to mitigate commercial and procurement risk.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Support the Regional Development team in implementing agreed design, procurement, and delivery strategies.
  • Proactive coordination and liaison between SNG internal stakeholders, Development colleagues, consultants, contractors, employers agents and supply chain to meet business objectives.
  • Prepare detailed project budgets, cost plans and reports for main contract / subcontract / material package competitive tendering as required.
  • Measure and prepare Bill of Quantities where required.
  • Liaise with contractor and material supply chain to ensure SNG rate book reflects market conditions.
  • Tender analysis and comparison to assist with procurement.
  • Support of the Land and New Business / Regeneration teams and work with internal planning, Technical and Commercial colleagues and external consultants to undertake viability, feasibility pre-construction analysis.
Qualifications

What we need from you:

  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering residential developments on greenfield, brown field, mixed-use and contaminated land sites.
  • Experience working with low-rise housing, medium-rise apartments and public realm including SUDs solutions.
  • Experience pricing geotechnical engineered solutions and all types of traditional foundations and piling including temporary and permanent works, concrete frames, basement construction, site remediation.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts who can support you in your task of pricing current and relevant cost estimates.
  • Relevant experience of cost-estimating traditional construction for houses and apartments as well as apartment superstructure and various Modern Methods of Construction, undertaking market testing and cost/value benchmarking of the same.
  • Relevant experience of cost-estimating renewable energy systems and or networks (ASHP/GSHP/PV/Heat Networks / Energy Centres).
  • Experience with JCT Design and Build Contracts.
