JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an experienced Demolition Estimator who can develop robust cost models, outline method statements and risk registers aligned to pricing strategies.

As a Demolition Estimator you will source sub-contractor quotes, build tender programmes, and identify commercial risks and opportunities while collaborating with clients, consultants and stakeholders.

As a Demolition Estimator you will work primarily across the Midlands with potential to support projects nationally, applying strong Excel skills and Health & Safety awareness throughout.

The successful candidate will have a passion to develop their skills and will be able to work closely with more experienced colleagues, becoming a valued and senior member of the Department.

DUTIES
  • Prepare First-Principles Estimates: build accurate costs for demolition tenders from the ground up
  • Develop Tender Method Statements: set out assumptions, clarifications and pricing strategy alignment
  • Create Initial Programmes: coordinate with the proposed project team to sequence works and milestones
  • Assess Risks and Opportunities: highlight commercial and delivery factors within submissions
  • Source Quotations: obtain competitive prices from suppliers and sub-contractors, including asbestos specialists
  • Lead Tender Submissions: compile, review and submit bids in conjunction with Bid Management
  • Present Proposals: discuss and refine offers with the Demolition Manager and attend post-tender meetings
  • Stakeholder Liaison: communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and wider stakeholders
  • Post-Contract Support: assist with commercial follow-up and handover to delivery teams
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience in an estimating role in the demolition industry
  • Knowledge of relevant demolition health and safety policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, plan and prioritise workloads with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confident stakeholder engagement
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and general IT proficiency for estimating and tender documentation
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Approachable and professional
