Job description

The Estates Services Operational Compliance Officer shall work as part of the in-house estates compliance team who are responsible for the delivery and monitoring of key in-house compliance activities, including fire safety, water hygiene, electrical and mechanical systems, and statutory testing across all premises.

The postholder shall carry out key compliance and planned preventative maintenance tasks to support the delivery of a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment across Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT)'s sites in line with NHS standards, statutory regulations and internal policies.

Main duties of the job
  • To assist with the monitoring and completion of documentation of statutory / operational compliance checks, e.g. fire safety systems, water hygiene, PAT testing, emergency lighting etc
  • To contribute to day-to-day data entry, document control and audit preparation.
  • To carry out inspections of statutory / operational equipment in line with NHS standards, replacing equipment or adjusting settings where necessary.
  • To identify remedial works arising from routine compliance activities and support supervisor in monitoring the completion of all remedial works within an environment.
  • To conduct site wide condition audits and report any issues to the EFM helpdesk, arranging and liaising with specialist estates staff/ contractors to ensure remedial work is completed on time and to PCFT standards

Job responsibilities

To escort / liaise and supervise work with other trades/disciplines including external agencies (contractors). To interpret engineering drawings and instruct and advise others. To carry the required Trust communication device to facilitate immediate response to emergencies. To diagnose and repair faults on non-complex electrical and mechanical services and equipment, deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others. To assemble and install non-complex electrical mechanical services and equipment as required. To carry out installation and repairs on all aspects of non-complex electrical and mechanical services and equipment. To undertake non-complex tasks including fault finding.
