Job description

St James Schools are seeking to appoint a dedicated and reliable Estates Officer to support the Estates Manager in the day‑to‑day operational management of the school estate.

The Estates Manager has overall responsibility for the safety, security, and effective maintenance of the site. The Estates Officer will play a key role in supporting these functions and will assume full responsibility for site supervision whenever the Estates Manager is absent. During these periods, the post holder will be expected to maintain exacting standards of site management and ensure the effective use of resources to enhance the learning environment for both students and staff.

This is an important role within the school, requiring a proactive approach to health and safety, site security, and the upkeep of buildings and grounds, ensuring the school remains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all users. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Contract: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:30 | NB: Occasional weekend & out of hours work for events or building works.
