Overview

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in City of Westminsterto assist with the appointment of an Environmental Health Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay

£28.68 - 37.85 per hour

Summary

Westminster City Council is seeking two experienced Environmental Health Officerto join the Environmental Health Consultation Team. The role focuses on a targeted project inspecting high-risk special treatment premises, specifically those providing laser and IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments, to ensure compliance with health and safety and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety inspections of licensed premises offering laser and IPL treatments
• Assess compliance with hygiene standards, machinery safety, operational procedures, and documentation
• Identify non-compliance and take proportionate enforcement action in line with council policies
• Provide professional advice and guidance to businesses to improve safety standards
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain evidence for enforcement proceedings
• Escalate risks appropriately and contribute to protecting public health

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
