Qualifications

Our Environment Division

Our Environment Division provides source to sea asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland, working on both framework and standalone projects. Since AMP3, we have delivered more than £2 bn of assets for clients including Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water.

Purpose of the Role

As Environmental Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager across all environmental aspects of the framework. You will support the implementation of the HS&E strategy and environmental management systems, ensuring that our projects are delivered to exemplary environmental standards. The role supports consistency, compliance and continual improvement in environmental performance across the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the implementation of the HS&E strategy and promote a positive environmental culture across the business.
  • Implement and maintain the Environmental Management System in line with business, client and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide environmental advice, guidance and support to operational teams from planning through to project completion.
  • Carry out environmental inspections, audits and ISO 14001 assessments.
  • Utilise environmental KPIs and performance data to drive continual improvement.
  • Support or lead environmental incident investigations, reporting and close‑out actions using the Galliford Try M2i system.
  • Engage effectively with internal teams, clients, supply chain partners, regulators and industry bodies.
  • Support the onboarding and performance management of supply chain partners where required.
  • Prepare and deliver environmental training, briefings and awareness sessions.
  • Escalate environmental concerns to the Framework HS&E Manager and Operations teams as appropriate.
About You
  • Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, water or a regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems, legislation and risk management.
  • Experience working across the project lifecycle, including design and construction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative, organised and proactive in approach.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and environmental reporting systems.
  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across projects and offices.
Desirable
  • Membership of IEMA.
  • Experience working within water or infrastructure frameworks.
