The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Risk Management professional who will actively assist in developing and implementing our risk management framework. You will also monitor the general risk profile of the insurance company and collaborate with the different departments to proactively change behaviours related to risks, while enabling growth within the organisation’s appetite for risk.

You will report directly to the Risk Management Director, who reports to the Chief Risk Officer.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist the organisation in the effective operation of the risk management system and oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of key strategic, operational, financial and technological risks.
  • Monitor the risk management system through Key Risk Indicators and detailed overviews on risk exposures
  • Write detailed risk analysis reports for executive leadership, providing actionable insights to support company objectives
  • Assist in the writing of regulatory risk reports
  • Provide support and training to staff to build risk awareness
  • Support incident management and crisis response
  • Assist the Risk Management Director in establishing and maintaining the organisation's risk appetite, in alignment with the strategic objectives
  • Ensure risk management practices are aligned with industry standards
Qualifications

Skills and competences

  • A strong team player, who is comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (English), interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Positive, solution driven attitude; ability to synthesise complex information clearly to stakeholders
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (economics, math, risk management or a related field)
  • Several years of experience in Risk Management or Operational Risk within a financial organisation
  • Proficiency in risk management concepts & principles and understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think abstractly and provide strategic direction
  • Fluent in English and fluent in Dutch or French
  • Experience within the insurance industry is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and respond to emerging priorities
Additional Information

We work in a hybrid model: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
