Job description
Overview

This isn’t a typical classroom. At Feltham Young Offenders Institute, you’ll teach learners in custody, many of whom have been let down by mainstream education. Research shows around 60% of young people in the justice system have speech, language or communication needs, with many facing undiagnosed SEN. Add to this that many will have had a challenging upbringing.

This is about more than lessons. It’s about giving learners a second chance: building skills, confidence, and belief that education can work for them.

  • Create engaging, learner-centred lessons in a secure prison environment.
  • Support learners with EHCPs and additional needs (e.g. ADHD, autism, literacy challenges).
  • Work alongside prison staff and colleagues to keep lessons safe and positive.
