English Teacher - Rugby

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Supply or Permanent

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire

Pay: Competitive (based on experience and qualifications)

The Role

As an English Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You'll play a vital role in helping students develop strong literacy skills, a love of reading, and the confidence to express themselves—both academically and creatively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Use data and assessment to support progress and provide timely feedback
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and ambition
  • Collaborate with the English department on planning, moderation and enrichment activities
  • Contribute to whole-school literacy and learning initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Hold QTS or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification (ECTs encouraged to apply)
  • Have recent experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and creative lesson planning
  • Be confident in behaviour management and building positive relationships with students
  • Have a passion for English and a commitment to improving student outcomes
  • Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
