Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Mansfield

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £168-£232 per day

TeacherActive is working with a well-known mainstream secondary school with a strong sense of community in the Mansfield area, Notts. The school have high aspirations and offer fantastic support to all of its staff. The school is looking to take on an English teacher starting in October 2025. The successful applicant will be working across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs. This role will also include some Drama lessons. The role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE exam preparation.
• Deliver some Drama lessons as part of the timetable.
• Follow and implement the school’s schemes of learning to support student progress.
• Contribute to creating an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that supports high standards of achievement.

Qualifications

• Graduate with qualified teacher status (QTS).
• Outstanding teacher in English with a strong teaching record.
• Relevant qualifications (formal and/ or through appropriate experience) to meet the appointment.
• Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and its place in the development of young people, and an understanding of rigorous reading strategies to support reading confidence and fluency.
