Overview

Oxfordshire Adult Learning are recruiting for an Hourly Paid Lecturer in English to join our award-winning faculty. Our English provision is well-established in Oxfordshire and supports learners to live, work and integrate successfully into their communities. Salary: £28.62 - £37.08 per hour Hours per week: Various Weeks per Annum: Various Working pattern: Various Location: Cross Campus Contract type: Fixed term until September 2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive online and in-person lessons that meet curriculum and learner needs.
  • Create and use a variety of learning resources, including digital tools.
  • Support learners in developing English, and functional skills.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Deliver tutorials and support learners with personalised learning plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to course management.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and independent learning.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to team and college objectives.
Essential Experience
  • Excellent teaching skills and a passion for your subject area.
  • Experience of teaching curriculum area.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Qualified Teacher or interested in qualifying.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding/Child Protection issues relevant to the post.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy or interested in qualifying.
  • Ability to relate to diverse teaching groups.
  • Skills relevant to tutorial/pastoral support.
Desirable Experience
  • Assessor/ Verifier qualification.
  • Experience of teaching within a post 16 setting.
