A leading Waste Management company in the UK is seeking a Support Operator for their Operations Team at an Energy from Waste plant. The role involves both outside duties and control room support, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and environmental compliance. Ideal candidates will have an engineering qualification or equivalent experience and at least 3 years in process operations, alongside strong communication skills. Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in process plant operations is required, ideally from the power industry.
• Candidates should have proven health & safety knowledge in an engineering context.
• An engineering qualification is desirable but equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe operation of the plant while complying with environmental regulations.
• Perform plant walk rounds to monitor and test outside equipment.
• Identify issues and defects and perform first line maintenance as needed.
• Operate cranes, forklift trucks, and other mobile plant equipment.

Skills

Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Experience in process plant operations

Understanding of health & safety in engineering

Education

Engineering qualification (ONC / HNC / NVQ / City & Guilds)

IOSH or similar Health & Safety certificate
