Utilities Engineer

Job Title: Utilities Engineer Energy Centre

Location: Northampton

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (6am6pm and 6pm6am)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive, plus bonus and benefits

We are looking for a skilled Utilities Engineer to join the engineering team at a large UK drinks manufacturing site in Northampton. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining and operating key utilities across the site to support reliable and safe production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain essential utility systems:
    • Steam and boiler systems
    • Compressed air systems
    • Refrigeration units
    • Reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant
  • Respond to breakdowns safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain engineering work areas to GMP and 5S standards.
  • Work with production teams to plan and prioritise maintenance work.
Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 and HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering field.
  • A time-served, multi‑skilled background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with steam and boiler systems is preferred.
  • Good understanding of safe working practices and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
