The Opportunity

Our client is a progressive, tech-enabled business services group providing audit & accounting, tax, outsourcing, and advisory solutions to clients across the UK and globally. With a focus on innovation, people, and service excellence, they are seeking a UK Employment Tax Manager to join their team in Scotland.

The Role - UK Employment Tax Manager (Scotland)
Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, delivering UK employment tax advisory and compliance services.
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of client engagements and compliance projects.
  • Provide technical expertise on PAYE, NIC, benefits in kind, CIS, termination payments, IR35, and HMRC employer compliance checks.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, supporting business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a learning and growth culture.
  • Oversee engagement finances, scope creep, and recoveries, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
  • Stay ahead of UK Employment Tax trends and proactively develop solutions to enhance client service.
Qualifications
  • ATT and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent), with strong UK employment tax experience.
  • Proven track record of advising on IR35, employment status, and compliance risk.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied portfolio.
  • Experienced in mentoring and supporting junior staff.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
