Job Title: Employability Team Leader

Salary: £40,500 - 44,350 (Dependant on Experience)

Location: West & North London

Contract: Full Time - Permanent

Programme: Trailblazer (MSK & Employment Support)

Job Summary

Trigon Recruitment are supporting a well-established national provider, who are recruiting for a Team Leader to oversee their MSK & Employment Support service in West and North London.

The Trailblazer programme integrates health recovery with employment support, offering individuals with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions a holistic pathway to return to work, remain in work, or find new employment. The Team Leader will manage and support a team of Health & Employment Coaches, ensuring high-quality delivery, performance management, and strong collaboration with clinical and community stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a high-performance environment and is passionate about supporting individuals to improve both their health and employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Performance — Lead, support, and mentor Health & Employment Coaches, ensuring high-quality delivery and achievement of performance targets.
  • Hold regular caseload reviews, one-to-ones, team meetings, and appraisals.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to staff.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant client record keeping, including audit checks.
  • Case Management & Client Support — Support Health & Employment Coaches managing complex caseloads of participants with MSK conditions.
  • Advocate for participants with employers to negotiate adjustments and resolve workplace issues.
  • Oversee delivery of employment coaching, CV building, interview preparation, and job search support.
  • Ensure participants are referred to appropriate services for mental/physical health, welfare, or training needs.
  • Drive programme success, achieving a minimum of 35% conversion of programme starts to job outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement — Work in partnership with MSK teams, GPs, social prescribers, and other referral partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary clinical team (physiotherapy, pain management, nutrition, smoking cessation, etc.).
  • Promote the service, delivering presentations and training to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to encourage workplace inclusivity and support job retention.
Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience managing teams in a high-pressure, target-driven environment.
  • Strong background in caseload management for participants with health and/or employment barriers.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Excellent people management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Knowledge of health conditions (including MSK and mental health) and their impact in the workplace.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Flexible, resilient, and empathetic approach with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Desirable:

  • Level 5 management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • IAG Level 3 or above.
  • Experience delivering or completing NHS-accredited Health Coach training.
Additional Information
  • This role requires travel across West and North London, with attendance at community hubs up to five days per week.
  • An Enhanced Adult & Child DBS check is required
