Job description
Overview

To answer all telephone queries relating to patient\'s attendance and general advice, redirecting to the appropriate source where necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Effective communication between clinical and non-clinical staff with the trust.
  • Alert the triage nurse of any potentially unwell patients you may have booked into the department.
  • Provide a general reception service to all personnel who access the Emergency Department and Clinical Decisions Unit. This includes contact with the general public as well as a wide range of other health care professionals. Use a designated computer system to enter patient data, combined with general office and clerical duties.
  • Participate in the Department\'s rota system, which includes nights, weekends and bank holidays. Rotation through the ED main Reception, RAU ambulance desk, Clinical Decisions Unit and potentially Paediatrics.
Requirements / Safeguarding

  • If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check (cost may be applicable). This cost may be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition, joining the DBS update service and paying the annual subscription is a condition of employment.
