At Babcock, we value the deep expertise that comes from hands-on experience and we offer a unique opportunity to channel that knowledge into a rewarding new path. As a Electronics Trainer based at Lyneham, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, you’ll step away from the tools and into a role where you’ll shape the next generation of military engineering professionals, sing your practical know-how to coach, guide, and assess learners across the MODs cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems. As a Electronics Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering high-impact technical training to defence personnel. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of engineers in electronics, radar, telecommunications, and avionics systems. Your work will directly support the UK’s operational readiness and national security, while advancing your own career in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Preparing and delivering engaging technical training modules using modern learning technologies
  • Developing and maintaining course materials, assessments and trainee records
  • Monitoring trainee progress and providing tailored support and feedback
  • Participating in quality assurance activities to continuously improve training delivery
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders across defence schools

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Lyneham.

Essential experience of the Electronics Trainer:

  • Supervisory experience in a technical or engineering environment
  • Proven experience in a relevant working environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Qualifications for the Electronics Trainer:

  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. General Electronics, Radar, Electronic Control, Telecommunications, or Avionic Systems) or significant experience in the field
  • Willingness to complete a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Learning within 12 months of employment.
