Job description

A well-established engineering manufacturer in Kirkbymoorside is looking for a Electronics Test & Repair Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on role within a well-equipped facility, working on specialist equipment in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

I'm looking for someone with strong PCB testing and fault-finding skills who enjoys problem solving and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities
  • Test and diagnose PCBs using oscilloscopes, multimeters, ATE and other diagnostic tools
  • Fault-find to component level on multi-layer boards
  • Rework and repair SMDs, connectors and through-hole components
  • Carry out soldering and desoldering using hot-air stations, microscopes and reflow ovens
  • Develop and follow test plans, computer-controlled test procedures and scripts
  • Record test results, repairs and modifications accurately
  • Work closely with design and production teams to support quality and improvements
What We7re Looking For
  • Hands-on PCB test and repair experience (2+ years preferred)
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BTEC, City & Guilds) or equivalent experience
  • Confident reading schematics, circuit diagrams and BOMs
  • Skilled in soldering/rework of SMD and through-hole components
  • Experience with multi-layer or rigid-flex PCBs and testing software/tools
  • Knowledge of analogue/digital electronics, microcontrollers, and power electronics
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and team-working skills
