Job summary

A growing manufacturer in Harrogate seeks an Electronic Technician for a temporary role with potential for permanence. Responsibilities include building electro-mechanical equipment and repairing products. Ideal candidates will have test and repair experience to component level or an engineering qualification. Competitive pay of £12.60p/h offered.

Qualifications

  • Confident experience in test and repair to component level.
  • Able to solder neatly and use a wide range of hand tools.
  • Recognize everyday electronic and mechanical components and systems.
  • Repair cable systems effectively.
  • Use basic electronic test equipment including multi-meters.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble electro mechanical equipment to customer specifications.
  • Rework, fault-find, and repair to component level.
  • Select and solder components accurately.
  • Perform electrical assembly and repair of cable insertion systems.
  • Conduct mechanical strip down and assembly.
  • Final test and quality inspection for products before release.

Overview

Electronic Technician – Harrogate, £12.60p/h. Temporary role with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. Easily commutable from Leeds and York by train.

Excellent opportunity for someone with confident electronic assembly, repair and test skills to work for a growing manufacturer in the Harrogate area. The role would suit someone with experience of test and repair to component level or an electronics graduate looking for their first opportunity. The company produces bespoke specialist electromechanical equipment for a range of industries and the role will be a mix of the repair of broken products and building new equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Work to drawings to build and assemble electro mechanical equipment to customer specifications
  • Rework, fault-finding and repair to component level
  • Selection and soldering of components
  • Some electrical assembly and repair of cable insertion systems
  • Mechanical strip down and assembly
  • Final test and quality inspection for products before release
Qualifications
  • Confident experience of test and repair to component level or hold a relevant engineering qualification in Electronic engineering
  • Be able to solder neatly and use a wide range of hand tools
  • Have the ability to recognise everyday electronic and mechanical components and systems
  • Be able to repair cable systems
  • Be able to use basic electronic test equipment including multi-meters and continuity testers
  • Be happy working in a targeted production environment
